Can Asus HD5850 process 3D?

i have Asus HD5850 with Asus mobo. can i connect the hdmi to a 3d tv and watch 3d movies? planning to buy a Samsung 3D Led.
 
AMD didn't add support for HDMI 1.4a (the HDMI standard for 3D) until the 6000 series.🙁
 
do you even like 3d? because a lot of people buy it thinking they will like it and they end up hating it
