Can anyone who uses Canon BCI-24 cartridges look inside?

Quick question, how much pages can you get for both black and color cartridges? I'm looking at a Canon printer to replace my HP one because the ink is so much cheaper. But people say that the cartridges are small so I want to be sure that I won't be spending the same amount of money in the long run.

Thanks!

I no longer allow cartridge prices dictate what printer I own...

4 1/2 yrs ago, I found this and I will tell you, honestly that their prices are really low... and on their own name stuff.... their quality is just as good if not better that the OEM.

🙂

I use the Canon 3 and 6 series ink tanks - yes, they're small - in fact, they're Canon's smallest, but there is SIGNIFICANTLY more of each color than there is in a HP cartridge. The savings comes in the fact that Canon does not sell you a new set of print heads with every cartridge - they are a seperate cartridge. I've only encountered 3 print head carts in need of being replaced, and they were in 3 identical printers that were 3 years old and had been doing FAR higher than Canon's rated duty. Oh, and a new set of print heads costs more than a new printer.

For reference, I managed to pull off 63 DVD covers from a single HP 78 colour cartridge, and almost 80 DVD covers using a single HP 45 black cartridge. Not bad at all IMO.
Best part is I get the cartridges refilled (works most of the time) at around $20/cargridge.
