I like my GFG just fine, however its a complete PITA if you want to cook a chicken breast. It burns the outside before fully cooking the inside. After that experiance, I've stuck to making bugers or steak (thin cut, not too thick) and maybe toasting a sandwich/melting cheese and its been awesome!

If you get the one with the temperature control (though its probably $$$) it would be damn near perfect. Oh, clean up is easy as hell if you warm the grill up first.

It cleans just by wiping up now I don't even use the little plastic scraper thing anymore.

A lot of times the wife says awe its too rainy to BBQ so I remind her of the grill.
Everybody is right it cooks real fast too cause its getting heat top and bottom
Absolutely great for fast meal prep

Dude, it's never too rainy for the propane grill. I'm out there in the middle of winter grilling in the rain. I'm in Washington state, too, so I get lots of rain.

1. Get the ones with the removable grill surface - far far easier to clean.
2. It doesn't have to say "George Foreman" on it... there are several nearly identical ones made by other companies now... for less money.

3. See #1. You'll use it a lot more if you can just take it to the sink and basically rinse it off (non-stick surface); otherwise it's a major PITA to clean the ones that don't come apart - "Do not submerge" If clean-up is a PITA, it's less likely you'll use it often.

I originally thought they were stupid - our grill does a great job. But, during our move, we borrowed one from a relative until we had everything moved in (that, a crockpot, and microwave were our only sources of hot food for a few weeks.) I didn't want to give it back! The burgers were just as good as grilled outside burgers.

Just get the god damned grill. The one with the removable plates if you can afford it. Cooks everything great. Steaks, hot dogs, BACON, just about anything! Just dont do eggs they run out of the thing :p

i would highly recommend you get the removable grill ones.. i've got one of the regular kind, and i love it.. it's perfect for college students.. i think all college students should have them.. makes quick meals.. and it's easy, and it tastes pretty good.. yes, it's "just" two frying pans, but you don't even need to use frying pans with this machine.. it's a pain in the ass to clean, so get the removable grill ones.. that's the only reason i dont' use mine very often anymore.. but when i was in school, man.. it was great.. steaks, burgers, veggies.. all good

I dunno why people are complaining about cleaning. Even if we leave it sit for a day or two, I just spritz up some simple green on it, scrub it with a brush, hose off, and wash with antibacterial soap. However removeable grill covers are a plus

I don't believe in working for my food. I love fast food. :D Hence, washing dishes in any form, or even cooking for 2 hours for a 15 minute meal.. sucks.

Had an old one and loved. Got a new one recently with removable covers and love it even more.

The foreman grill is most excellent.
They tend to wear out after about 500 uses or so, however, they are worth every penny of the cost and beyond.

Cooks chicken wicked fast :D

Make sure you clean with a old toothbrush right away.

I don't see how ANY of you are complaining about difficulty cleaning the GFG. It's a NON-stick surface. WTF? This is not rocket science. I have cooked all sorts of stick stuff on there like chicken marinated in a syrup. Talk about getting caked on and stuck. How did I manage to clean it? You turn it on so it gets hot. Pour some water on it. Then most of the junk just steams and comes off. Then take the plastic scraper and gently push the rest off. Then use a damp paper towel on the rest. The whole time you have it plugged in and the grease tray on the bottom to collect the water and junk. It's trivial.
