Hi all..

I got this new parts:
Asus A8N-SLI
AMD Athlon 64 3200+
Asus 7900gt top
Coolermaster Centurion 534

old parts:
GEIL 3200 256 x2
Corsair valueseries 512mb x2
Antec HE500
WD Raptor 10K 36k
Hitachi 80G

When it runs windows, it runs very smoothly, fast bootup time.
but when i run games like Battlefield 2, FEAR, 3dMark06 (mostly 3d games)
the system will suddenly shut down. Just like when the application is running and then someone pull the power plug. No sign of anythings, no blue screen or anything.

What can be the reaon doing this? I don't overclock at all. I have tried to underclock the video card to 400/500 (default is 520/720) still happen the same. I can't underclock the CPU, can't choose any lower FSB...

So is there conflict between hardware?

Any ideas? this is killing me...!!! I can't play games at all

I seem to have problems on some games with my laptops. It just a few ideas.

Check cpu and gpu temperatures. Update drivers to the lastest levels. Run Memtest(I've had a bad stick of ram cause the same thing). Check the voltages on the rails from the bios.

Is your ram running at 225mhz? You are using all four RAM slots I assume, so having the RAM at such aggressive timings isn't going to help. I know from experience that GEIL memory wont run much over 210 mhz and you have matched 2 different pairs of ram sticks, which is always going to cause issues with overclocking.

Use a ram divider to get the ram closer to stock 200mhz
Manually change the timings to something more conservative, like 3-4-4-8
Perhaps raise the voltage for the memory to 2.7

Using all four DIMMS means you need to sacrifice ram speed, not to mention running different brands AND different memory sizes - but you shouldn't really notice the difference if you lower the timings and speed.

*EDIT* Sorry, you said you weren't overclocking. Then its almost certainly a conflict in your ram. Either change the timings as suggested, or try running the games using just 2 sticks. If it works, you know that 4 sticks are causing problems - then you will definitely need to lower the timings!

First guess would be RAM, but the way it's crashing makes me wonder if you're yet another victim of Antec's crappy QC.

I'd try running Memtest on the RAM, & try just running the G.Skill or the Corsair, instead of both mixed.
Make sure timings/dividers are set properly; i wouldn't just trust SPD/auto settings.

If you try everything mentioned to do with RAM (& it checks out) & it's still doing it, i'd guess it's the Antec taking a sh*t on your system.

I have to ask this first,
I am not running SLI for now... but *** do i have to connect the EZ-PLUG too? ***

I now take away the GEIL ram and it seems kinda find.. have running for 3d games for 2 hours and going.

I haven't overclock any yet(not cpu or videocard)

For EZ plug http://forums.nvidia.com/lofiversion/index.php?t13475.html

You can use the GEIL along with the other ram as long as you lower the timings to 3-4-4-8 or similar for all the sticks. The slight decrease in speed will be more than made up for by the extra 512MB especially for BF2 and FEAR.

If and when you do overclock - use dividers to keep the RAM at 200mhz-ish; otherwise you will keep having the same problems.
