So far the only 12-tone music I've heard is done by Gentle Giant (Racontre Troubadour). It's definitely a complex music style and I would like to sample
some other 12-tone music... I've heard that some crazy jazz musicians do improve 12-tone solos!!! That's something I would love to hear.

I was thinking something more modern...

Did he really "invent" 12-tone music or was he just the first one to popularize it?

Webern is generally considered to have "created" 12-tone music, while Schoenberg is known for having popularized it. Other 12-tone composers include Berg, Krenek, Babbitt, Boulez, Stravinsky (towards the end of his career, after the death of Schoenberg), Rochberg, Copland (started in the 1950's I think), and Carter. There's a lot of crap 12-tone music out there. Many bad composers seem to hide behind it as a reason for making their music bad. Like this:
"Hey, this is a piece of sh!t."
"Don't blame me, it's 12-tone."
When in reality, there is some amount of good 12-tone music. It just takes some searching to find it.
