I prefer Nike, but whatever works really good that isn't generic, please recommend them. Thanks.

Nike Shox. I am on my second pair. Extremely comfortable and they provide nice support.

The Griffeys aren't for running though, are they?

Are you a distance runner? I generally prefer New Balance, but I've heard good things about Nike, Asics and Saucony. Tell us what mileage you want to run, and what your buold type is (height, weight, stocky/thin) and we may be able to recommend a few good shoes, but its really up to you. Whatever feels good for you is what is best. Like I said, I like New Balance, but my gf uses Nikes because NBs hurt her feet.

I've never used Shox, but I hear praise about them all the time.

Depends greatly on foot type and the shape of your foot.

No they're mid-sized X-trainers, but the Shox technology is great for comfort... I had tried on a few pairs of Shox running shoes before I bought these, I just decided on these ones because they looked better. The model doesn't matter, any of the Shox running shoes will do you fine... if you don't like Shox, grab a pair of Air Max shoes.

I buy based on comfort and what they look like. Don't care if they're running, X-Trainers, basketball what.

I had a few pairs of Nike shox and they weren't too comfortable but were OK for running. The Presto line of Nike shoes are very comfortable. I have worn out 3 pairs already and Im on my 4th :). Nike Air Max Plus isn't too comfortable for me (they put too much pressure in the air sacs). I heard the New Balance shoes are pretty cheap and comfortable.

Exactly...I've got flat, extra-wide feet and I've never found one that really works for me :(

This is a very personal question. I personally prefer Asics (either Gel Kayanos or Gel DS-Trainers, depending on how each model is designed from year to year).

It depends on your foot type. I prefer New Balance, and have used them for years. You don't need to pay for a Nike logo sewn on by some sweat shop kid chained to a sewing machine to run better*

*this was a joke

*not really.

I use to prefer asics, but now I prefer Nike. Nike shoes (in my experience) need a break in period of a couple weeks, then I think they are superior to asics.
