Can anyone recommend a merchant account provider?

We are trying to set up an online shop and would like to know a good provider for a merchant account so we can accept credit card payments. Does anyone use a particular company and are you happy with them?

Why on eath are you going to start an on line store at this time? Data bases with credit card info are getting hacked right and left,and when a person makes a transaction,he can recieve the product and rescend the transction and you are out not only the product,but you just signed away your right to arbitrate and you just allowed the merchant account people to access your bank account and get the moneyANY TIME THEY WANT TO<WITHOUT YOUR PRIOR KNOWLEDGE!.

Stay out of the online merchant business and look for another way to do business. That business model sucks!
