I picked up a Ridgid 3660 new for $399 from HD not to long ago...I am not sure if they still have any old stock on hand. It's a great saw.

Home depot has been clearing out the R4511 (the granite top one) for 299. Iono if you can still find them around, but won't fit the OP's purposes anyway. I love mine though and I paid 450 for it using one of their "power" deals with $150 off $600.

The ridgid portable one is pretty good and you can often use a lowes 10%. I think they're 499 or 399 regular price. If you can't find the mover's coupon, you can always buy one off of ebay for like two bucks.

This craftsman would probably suit your purposes as well. Try combining with the bing cashback for 20% when it comes around again.

As for outfeed tables, you can always use the cheap ones from harbor freight and they'll serve you well enough. Pick up 3 of em, 2 for the sides and one for the other end and you'll be fine.

big saws are dangerous too. My dad nearly cut off the tip of his finger on a radial arm saw that had a broken brake, his brother fucked up his hand on a joiner (fully recovered), and i actually got shot in the chest by a ripping from their delta unisaw (i was dowling a cabinet faceframe, working behind my dad who was making the cut - 6 stitches.)

i've used the makita/russeau combo dozens of times and i'm very comfortable with its build quality and safety.

Yes it rains where i live. I will not be using the saw in the rain.

Lol @ 343 lb. "portable" saw.

thats what i have, an older delta unisaw
