Can anyone recommend a good ASP.NET web host?

I'm looking for a North-American (preferably east coast) web hosting service.

Primarily, it has to support ASP.NET 1.1.

Google comes up with twelve zillion search results, and to be honest, all of them look a bit shady. (And why do none of these people know how to design a website?)

Does anyone have first-hand experience with any of these web hosting companies?

Couldn't you just use something like Apache and register a domain?

EDIT : If for some reason that's not an optin, I'm sorry for my suggestion. o_O

I could use whatever on earth I'd like (although Apache won't run my .NET code very well, now will it :), but I'm a student behind dozens of subnets and firewalls. I can't host on my own box, and I'm moving all the time.

Most web hosts are typically reseller accounts on larger accounts - that's probably why they look shady. They're typically one man operations, and for every web host that actually owns a datacenter, there are hundreds that offer <$10/mo service from a reseller account hosted by one of the larger tier hosts.

WHT is an excellent source for information, both reviews and quality host advertisements.

Perhaps if you listed a budget, more suggestions could be offered.

My budget is $10-20/month--I'm not looking to do anything spectacular at the outset, but I do need a decent ASP.NET host with some storage, bandwidth, and database support.

A search in the Advertising section of WHT (subforum number 29) should find a few choice - use something along the lines of "asp.net" as the search parameter.

This would prove an excellent choice, as they are extremely reliable and customer oriented.

Agreed.

Go to WHT and search for ASP.NET
