Can anyone recommend a good alternative MPEG player?

One that plays video w/sound. My crap MediaPlayer sucks, it doesn't play sounds and certain *.avi files. I tried XingMPEG Player but my trial is up, and I dont' want to buy it, as it was pretty choppy and had low fps.

avi's? are you sure that it's not a DivX file they've got the same extention and need a codec to play

Um I believe the latest version of MS's media player plays.....everything.....

Yes, it does, but for me, I've loaded some fvcked up codecs or something and now it won't play with sounds. Its pretty stupid IMO. I don't even know if its DivX or not, I'm downloading some Music Videos, so I don't know if its DivX or not

Yeah and it sucks the big one too....
You can't even save a movie that was loaded with it....
And SMR and DivX codecs really mess it up...
Not to mention crazy CPU dependent...
