I have been having problems with service going out for short periods of time, for the past 2-3 months.
I just wanted to make sure it is a problem with their servers and not with anything on the route between us. Anyone know what could cause this, other then their servers being down? Is the data center that they are hosted in problematic?

So if it is working in some areas and not in others it is not their fault, right? Is it a problem with a router between me and their server?

Thanks Rosman, remember, you got me into this mess!!! 😉 At least it is not as bad as the whizhost BS:|

I hope some room on the AT dedicated server opens up for me soon.

There is room, send me a PM and I can help you out. Mods are not allowing me to post a thread listing the current openings.

Thanks to Wong and their DC (CyberWurx) for quick resolution.
Was an unforunate morning/afternoon. The DDoS attack and the hardware failure (two drives, and a SCSI controller card) was quite a bit to be thrown at a single given time.

For those unaware, the UltraUnix forum is hosted on a separate node, and thus when the primary node hosting the UltraUnix main site is down, the forum is still accessible. Direct link to the forum. Also, Wong reports any major outages to the WHT community as well, with links to the UltraUnix forum regarding specific details as Ross pointed out earlier in this thread.

Many thanks to both Wong and the staff at CyberWurx. They are both to be commended.

Thanks RossMan for getting me over here.

Several ISPs have helped us in blocking the DDoS (Level3 and Cogent are the ones that we noticed thus far). The said ISPs have filtered our IP so that no traffic from their end flowing to us.

We have mailed Level3 and Cogent to get this straighten out, meanwhile, please contact us at custcare@ultraunix.net for IP change. Network routing is unfortunately out of our control.

We update our forum constantly for any outages.
