Can anyone please recommend software for creating Photo & Video gallery webpages?

I used to use a software called Web Gallery Wizard Pro. There newest software is called Shozam which "easily integrates a photo gallery with video, audio, descriptions, slideshow". However, I am not hearing good things about it so I was wondering if anyone can recommend anything better?

I am a fairly advanced PC user, and know basic web design, but I am just looking for sotware to automate the process of indexing my photos and videos and inserting them into templates for easier website creation. The ultimate goal for me is to create a personal website.

Any help would be appreciated.

Shutterfly or picasa maybe?

I'm personally using the NextGen gallery plugin for wordpress to display my pictures, setup was easy and straight forward, but this option is only good if you are going to use wordpress for you webpage.

Thanks for the reply... I personally want to avoid using 3rd party services such as Shutterfly or Picasa and just use my own resources. The NextGen gallery plugin for Wordpress sounds interesting, does it allow for (personal) video embeds as well?

I haven't tried embedding them on the gallery or pictures page but I'm able to embed a video into any post I make, so I'm pretty sure it would work, just haven't tried it myself.
