Can anyone help me with tapedecks?

Every tape deck i have tested (around 3) work in every other car except for mine. In my car (98 Camry), the damn thing stays in for a couple seconds, and then ejects. Occasionally (two times or so) it has stayed in but after 15 minutes starts acting erratic and then ejects. What can i do?

i have tried everything I can.

i had the same problem with my 95 mustang tape deck. i purchased a radio shack tape to headphone jack kit and it played for 3 seconds and ejected. I returned that, went to best buy, purchased a sony one and it worked fine.

Nope. the factory unit does have cd changer controls and input, so It could be jury rigged through that.

this is a pretty common problem for old tape decks. i think the solution here is to spend the $150 to buy a new CD player with an aux-in jack.
