Can anyone help me who is familiar with FreeNAS?

So I have an old computer and no monitor to hook it up to. I can get the box to boot right into the FreeNAS live cd, but without the ability to see from the box itself, I can't get to the install screen to install freenas on the hard drive (so I won't need the livecd).

Is there anyway to do this completely remotely? (from the FreeNAS web based GUI)

Why not just temporarily use your main monitor to get it set up? Then you can switch back and admin the FreeNAS remotely.

I don't have any monitors right now unfortunately.

You could boot from the cd on your laptop, then memorize the keystrokes you need in order to install it...

Good Call! Might be dicey, but theres nothing on the drives yet so i guess its worth a try.

That is the wackiest install method I've heard of in a while 😛 I was going to suggest a serial cable...

This brings to mind something that I've always thought would be a GREAT option for laptops... a built in KVM. You've already got the keyboard/mouse/monitor in a portable housing, so if it had inputs and a switch button, it would be PERFECT! I realize that the general public would never need/use it, but for IT purposes, there have been BUNCHES of times that I've wished I had such an option.
