Can anyone help me modify my Ti-83 plus graphic calculator so it's 4x faster than normal?

Say if i provide the capacitator, would you be able to mod this calculator? I would only trust those with heatware that have the ability to solder well and handle this type of modification. I'll throw in cash as well. How much, well, we'll see if there are any takers first. I'd only take the trusted, as this is a 70+ dollar calculator. i am rather poor, so f-ups wouldn't be an option. Any help is appreciated.

WTH do you want a faster TI83? its not like youre kicking SETI WU's on it with your link cord or something.......

and if you need a handheld with some bitching speed, go get an ipaq

Maybe i'm just a geek, but my friend brought this Silver edition to school the other day. That calc is sooooo fast, and it's only about 2.5x faster than a normal 83 plus.

😀

But it has 10x as much memory terriotory as well.

You realize 4x speed means about 4x less battrey life? Why the hell do u care, its not like its really gonna help u do ur precal tests faster?

hehe

I once played around with the calculator that ships with Windows XP PowerToys. I asked it to graph me the function of e to the x to the e to the something to the something else. I checked back after half an hour and it still didn't solve it. I eventually did an "End Task" on the app. 🙂

Faster calculator does help on exams sometimes, though. It saves time because some functions do take quite a while to graph in TI83.

I have a Ti86 and the battery life is, well, amazing. Even if the battery life was one fourth of normal, I would only get, what, about two months?

My 86 is better off the bat. You can go up to 99 exponents, I can go to 999. 😉

I have a TI-83+, a 83 Silver Edition, and an 89....

Now before you yell uber-geek, let me explain. I've had the + for a couple years now but one day the link port went kaput. I use programs a lot and also write my own so I needed a calc with a functioning link port, and also the calc f'ed up and cleared the RAM so it was basically totally useless to me. I ended up trading 192MB of RAM (which I didn't use) to my friend for his 89 (which he didn't use). Finally I decided I would really like to have a 83 again because it was easy to program for and nearly everyone else had one so we could trade programs and stuff, so I went out and got an 83 Silver Edition. Not only is having a ton more memory very good (I almost ran out of space on my original calc) but it came with a graph link too which is pretty useful.

But to answer your question erikiksaz: No, and if I tried to you'd probably end up with a $70 paperweight.
