I got a small computer recently. It is not new but as a simple linux machine it should be more than adequate for web, email and word processing.

I would like to find out the specs to see if I can increase RAM and also what the various jumper options are.

All I can find by way of a name are the words on board next to the Slot Riser "SAFARI PREMIUM" which appears from what I could Google may be made my FIC. AMI Bios /AT59, SIS5595 chipset.

The box has a floppy and an 80GB HDD. No CD and no room for one other than a slim drive with the small ribbon connector ( or perhaps the IDE channel will support two drives, which is another reason I would like to find the specs.

It is a very compact box which I would like for the shop.

Back panel has LPT, VGA, 2xUSB, 2x Serial, Ethernet, Audio in/out/mic PS/2 Keyboard and mouse.

If anyone has any idea where I can find more details and hopefully a PDF user guide for this MOBO the coffee is on me !

I was going to post a photo but I guess this board lacks that ability...if someone has an idea let me know and I will email image of board.

This is close but not quite same. The product here is the same case and layout of components however the MOBO in this guide has two SIMM sockets and the text says it supports up to 128MB. The one I have has only a single slot and does accept a single 256MB stick just fine.

Also the riser on the one in the manual has 1 old slot and two PCI slots where mine has the old slot and one PCI slot.

It is getting close however. I will continue my search and if anyone here runs across a closer match please let me know.

As far as the real issues that concern you

1. How much RAM can it support. Try adding more until it won't boot.
2. Second drive on the one IDE channel. Just add another drive in the slave position and see if BIOS sees it.

Jumper settings. What else would you want to alter? For clearing CMOS you can always remove battery. In fact you may as well put in a fresh battery.

1. I don't have more ram sticks to add.
2. This I plan to try.

Jumpers: I was curious to know if any settings related to the RAM or CPU clock speed etc.

Last board I recall with jumpers for CPU clock speed was for an Athlon XP. Close inspection of motherboard will reveal some sort of grid/table with the various clock speeds and jumper pin settings.
