A girl I study for the MCAT with was talking about a song she liked, but mentioned that she could not remember either the artist, the title, or even the lyrics.

I told her that this would be no problem for the massive collective brain power of my friends at AnandTech.

She knows that it came out 4 to 5 years ago, and it was sort of punk or indy (industrial?) and it was a guy and a girl arguing back and forth.

Ring a bell anyone?

As for the song, thats gonna be a hard one to find cause you dont even know what you're looking for.

I will probably just tell her I am a damn genius and figured it out myself. Every time I try to explain to folks how I spend hours a day here, and don't know the people, but they are all smart about computers...etc, they look at me like I told them aliens had landed in my back yard.

Yay, thanks Jfur. I just remembered it was Catatonia and then I read your post. Anyway, is that it? It isn't exactly punk, but that's all that I could think of.
 
First, tell her her memory sucks, then, do a earch on Google for all the key terms listed so far in this threa, you're bound to stumble upon it sometime. 🙂
 
You are exactly right, BUT making her feel badly about her ability to rember things, especially when we are MCAT study partners, won't help matters.
 
Well, she is good looking, and we spend a TON of time together...
I think I am a geek now. Only bad thing is, I am getting the bad part about being a geek ( no women) and none of the good ( computer skills.)
Does hanging out in this forum while being totally baffled by women quify you as a geek?

Anyway, I am putting off studying physics....
But, any more guesses on the song?
 
My real motivation is mre or less simple curiousity as to what the song is, and my fascination with, as I call it, the collective brain power of the combined minds on theis forum. It seems like no matter how obscure the subject mater, or how little info is available, it will trigger something in at least one member's brain. While there are probably more specific forums, like one on music, for most of the things ask here, I feel like I &quot;know&quot; the folks here, so I guess I trust the advise a bit more.
