Hi,

Thanks in advance if anyone can help with this.

I've just aought a brand new PC. Everything seems to be working well, bar one odd problem I'm having that I can't seem to work out.

Basically, my computer can't seem to cope with complicated graphics, despite it's up to date spec.

So far, I have found I can invoke this crash in three different ways, and each time it has exactly the same symptoms. It happens:

  • Instantly when I hit the "Run 3DMark" button on 3DMark03
  • Instantly as soon as Counter-Strike: Source has finished loading
  • After the opening sequence of the "Demo" that comes with 3DMark03

What happens is that my monitor instantly says "No Signal" and turns itself off after a few seconds. I then lose all sound, and the computer becomes completly unresponsive.

If I hit the reset button on my PC, it appears to restart (I get the customary beep and floppy drive whirring) but nothing ever appears on the screen, not even the normal BIOS information.

After restarting, if I press the power button the computer turns off. Upon turning back on it boots as normal and everything appears to be fine!

Has any one seen this before, or does anyone have any tips as to where I should be looking?

My PC specs are as follows:

AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3000+ 2.0 GHz
Asus K8VSEDX
NVIDIA GeForce 6800 LE
1024Mb Ram
Creative Audigy 2 ZS
Windows XP
DirectX 9.0B
Sharp LL-T19D1-B running through digital input

run drivercleaner to remove the drivers and then reinstall the drivers. Then, make sure your motherboard and chipset drivers are up to date.
