Hi All,

Hardware experts needed....I need some serious help in this problem my brother and I am having. For the life of us we can't figure out how to solve it.
We both put together a machine for ourselves, they each have the exact same components.
1ghz TB, Geforce 2, 256 sdram, 30 IBM hd etc...

The problem lies we believe within either our monitors, videocards or motherboards.
And they are: Monitor: Viewsonice PF790 (19inch) Videocard: Leadtech Winfast Geforce 2
Motherboard: Iwill KK266

Here is the situation.

When you are on the desktop and you either left click or right click the whole screen moves over about 2 pixels and then jumps back to its original position.

This happens in IE, Windows Explorer, Word etc. Though in 3d studio max the problem does not occur. I guess you could liken it to a javascript rollover. When we click with our mouse buttons, our screen moves to the left slighty and then moves back to the original position.

Fun eh? I have tried reinstalling all our drivers, the new detenator drivers and also our Leadtech drivers. No change, I have tried unistalling the videocard and then reinstalling it in the device manager. No change. Also, I have tried updating my Viewsonic monitor drivers. No change. My mb has the lastest 4-1 drivers.

The Leadtech techinal support team doesn't know what is causing it.
Though here is some more info. It only does this move to the left thing, when you are at a resolution at or greater then 1280x960 and a refresh rate of 85hz or higher.

Our screen resolution is at 1280x960 and at 85 hz. If we move it to 75hz refresh rate the problem stops! Ha. Though with 3d work I WANT 85hz refresh rate. Both the monitor and video card can support this resolution and refresh rate.

Now this exact samething happens on both my brothers and I machines. Maybe a MB and VC conflict?
Any viable ideas anyone? A small problem that gets annoying quick.

Thanks for help.
Justin

The only thing I could think of would be a cooling problem on your GPU. If it already has active cooling, ignore me, but if not, a blue orb with arctic silver thermal adhesive could do you well.

mine used do do that too, however i was running a ctx 17inch at the time.....if i recall i fixed it by installing some leaked nVidia refrence drivers, before the 12.xxs were official....

maybe that helps...maybe not...sorry...

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I know my cooling is fine. I put some fans in for extra cooling.

Has anyone else heard of this type of thing? Very frustrating.

Thanks in advanced.
