Comprei um redmi note 8 pro e vi o artigo sobre a mediatek trapacear no Benchmark, e fiquei magoado com a ação, e gostaria de saber o que posso fazer para recuperar meu dinheiro gasto em algo que não é o que promete.

Provavelmente nada. Infelizmente, esse tipo de comportamento ocorreu com outros fabricantes também. É apenas uma parte feia da indústria. O melhor que você pode fazer é evitar o Mediatek no futuro, o que é difícil para dispositivos de orçamento e algumas regiões do mundo.

Mediatek was recently caught cheating on benchmark apps to make their new SoCs look much faster than they would in normal situtations. He bought a Redmi Note 8 with a Mediatek chip and was wondering if he had any recourse for a refund. Which seems highly unlikely.

It's hard for me to even be that mad at Mediatek since it seems like just about everyone has tried cheating the benchmarks at some point.
