Can any Nforce 4 Ultra handle a PCI video card?

I just got one of these to set up a cheap system for someone (there's a thread in general cataloging my frustrations) with the Chaintech VNF4 Ultra. I know there was a thread by Major Payne long ago and I was wondering if anyone has found a way to use a PCI card with this board. Thanks.

Edit - Im now wondering if any NForce 4 Ultra can handle a PCI card. Thanks.

I've ran a cheap 10 year old PCI ATI card on my DFI Ultra-D untill my RMA came back. Worked fine other than things was kinda slow due to its age.

You don't need to return the board to Chaintech as there is an issue with PCI video cards on all of the VNF4 Ultra's. Chaintech was to resolve the issue via a bios update, but I'd check there to see if they have done so.

A general serch of this forum would have brought you about a dozen threads on this specific issue.

Try emailing Tech Support. They may send one to you. The issue has been known since the begining of January. 😉

I tried searching and couldn't find anything about it within a reasonable time period. But now I'm interested. What exactly is the problem with PCI vid cards on nForce4?
