Absolutely. But then that creates a problem of a classification and nomenclature system for things we consider "citrus" as well as the problem of reclassifying existing "vegetables" under a different name. I propose that we simply call all vegetables citrus and all citrus vegetables . Et, viola; an orange can indeed be considered a vegetable...
Most folks think of fruits as something sweet, often used as desserts, while vegetables are generally used as a side dish or combined with other foods in salads, casseroles, etc.
