Can an ISP spy on you?

I've been kind of curious about ISP's lately. Can they look at what you've been looking at and bring fines or something? I've heard of it happening in movies but isn't it an invasion on privacy?

Evidence eliminator has to be on the top 10 most spammed things. For some reason I figure an ISP has better things to do that worry if you look at porn or not.

You probably agreed to it as a condition of entering into a service contract with your ISP, so it is legal. It's probably legal even if you didn't agree to it. It's their network, and they can pretty much log whatever they wish.
