So I found the IP of the website (212.13.207.119) and tried to visit that or ping it and cannot.

Is there anyway I can ask my ISP to unblock this site, or would they be hesitant to because of what it is?

That a BT site? A growing number of ISP's are blocking BT traffic because it's so bandwith consuming. And the fact that probably >90% is of copywrite protected content.

Of course they can. next?

try nslookup to make sure you can resolve names.

Also many places block pings. But I can ping this site. Sounds like they're blocking it to me. Probably way too much traffic.

Dunno if this will change anything, but use an open proxy and try to access the site.

I've had a few problems with my firewall doing that. I have to shut down the firewall temporarily to view a few pages.

The same thing is happening to me... at avon.com and samsclub.com of all places.

used to be able to go there all the time, but recently, like the whole past week, I cannot...

Can't figure out why!

:(

edit: no, I cannot ping the sites either.

A couple months back, Optimum Online users weren't able to access Suprnova (when it was still good). For a few days, there were pretty mad customers but it turned out to be a router issue. You should see after a few days before jumping to conclusions.

I tried tracert through the command prompt and it works fine for me so I dont think its a routing problem

well then its not a layer3 problem - more than likely a layer 4 or 7 problem. (blocked)
