Can an HDMI cable go bad?

Tonight while watching Discovery HD on my new Toshiba 46" DLP, i started getting a blue flash. All color on the screen would turn blue for 1/2 second, every 2-3 seconds watching 1080i, and 1/2 second every 7-9 seconds watching 720p.

Gonna go try component cables, but can HDMI cables go bad?

Also, does Walmart sell HDMI cables yet? I was gonna run over and pick up a temp spare to see if that fixed it...

you know what, I saw an HDMI cable at walmart in the bargin bin for $25, I almost crapped my pants, (@ BB they cost a million dollars) I almost bought it, but mine is 15 feet, and I didn't need it.

Yes, unless they are Monster Cables filled with hyperoxygenated copper ions. Other cables have ordinary copper atoms with a much lower ion count, which can quickly be depleted by extended transmission of high definition signals.

Well the cable im using right now is a $15 one from MonoPrice...
