[Edit] As your question asks "can," I don't understand why you have a "sometimes" response in your poll. Are you asking if America is wrong?

[The Dub]Either yer fer us or agin us [/The Dub]

We were right in Afghanistan but as wrong as we could be in Iraq. Unfortunately at the time I believed the Dub and supported his ill advised excellent adventure in Iraq. I take partial blame for my support and for actually believing him. Well a National Tragedy like 9/11 can cloud ones judgment, that's the only excuse I have for supporting such a Clusterfsck.

No you didn't 🙂

If America is sometimes wrong, then yes, America can be wrong..

For "sometimes" to work, you would need multiple Americas (parallel universes? 😕 ) and a situation where some Americas can be wrong at least some of the time and some Americas can never be wrong.

I still think you want to ask "how often do you think America is wrong?" because a "can" poll would and should be very one-sided

Agreed the poll is weird. But amdfanboy has had some good poll ideas lately. Just when you think something is so obvious you have some neandertal fascists who actually think American sh*t doesn't stink.

Nope, never wrong, because we can bitch slap back into place those that think we're wrong and want to make something of it. Besides, we're better than everyone else, so no one has the right to say we're wrong. 😀

Look... it's a "might makes right" argument... and it's wrong... just like it's always been.

I voted 'sometimes'. America has been wrong too many times, in too many areas. Not most of the time, but too many times.

However, I also believe the US is the greatest country the world has ever known, and in its founding priciples and ideals, the most moral. This is not patriotic bromide... it's rooted in full knowledge of the necessary aspects and components of reason and man.

Or maybe:

Can America be wrong?
*Yes, and in practice, America is wrong some of the time
*Yes, and in practice, America is wrong most of the time
*No

OK, so we're wrong every once in a while... But when is it acceptable to admit that? In a time of war? Even if we are wrong about Iraq, would it hinder our troops to say that we made a mistake? Are there times when we should not admit to being wrong just to "support the effort", whatever that means?

I think you should probably admit to being wrong... at some point, which would probably depend on the individual context. If you are wrong you should do everything possible to find benefits/positives to correct the mistake as best you can. Err, something like that... I dunno

Can America be wrong?
This thread would be a troll if it were not so pathetically vapid.

If you're going to ask a leading question like that, at leat try to set some context for the discussion. If you want to avoid yet another invitation to yet another P&N flame fest, your OP should include real, factual information and links either to sources that are not blatantly biased one way or another, or to a selection of sources from several points of view.

JMHO, but I'm really tired of lame, mindless posts spoiling potentially good questions for discussion. 😛

It's an assumption. One we all know is right.

Like the one that yer a troll?

Please stay on topic, crimson.

If someone can find me a genuine liberal (not one that disses liberal in his sig) who voted no I'll change my mind.
