:::EDIT:::

Next door neighboor just put HID's in his 06 Stang GT, so he gave me the old bulbs. He actually helped me install em too...I guess since mazda is owned by ford they use the same bulbs? IDK, but they worked...

/EDIT

One of my bulbs burnt out, and i want to get a pair of xenons if they'll fit/function properly...

Yes.
Xenon is just a different gas, it isn't an HID headlight.

I'd personally pick up the Sylvania Silverstars.

that's what i thought. otherwise, why would it cost $1,000 for a HID upgrade?

sylvania silverstars will give you the closest "HID" look.

What about the First listed pair on the above page (model 50H4PW)?

those are definately not real xenon light bulbs. they are xenon look-alike.

these are real xenon bulbs. 3rd pair that's selling for $105.

I doubt it because my BMW Xenon HID require HID Ballasts which my other BMW that has regular halogen doesn't.

There is a big difference that many people seem to miss between True HID headlights, and the crappy blue "Xenon" headlights often sold. Technically illegal in many states, they may have some "xenon gas" in the glass envelop, and a blue wrap oin/in the glass to give that bluish look, but they are a LONG ways from the ones you see in BMW's or MB's etc. Sylvania Silverstars are a nice compromise if you just want to upgrade your stock halogen headlights. Nice bluish-white color, appear to be a little brighter, yet not so blue that you're likely to get a ticket. (at least in Kahleeforneeya, where colored headlights are technically illegal.) Yeah, I know, they're everywhere...it's just something the cops MIGH mess with you over IF they stop you for something else.
A google search will find you true Sylvania Xenrc upgrade kits starting at about $300.

You can get halogen bulbs which have xenon added to them (correctly, or not, these are often called Xenon bulbs). These are a direct replacement for normal headlamp bulbs, but may be brighter and last longer. You can get some blue tinted ones, to simulate the look of HID lights (see below) - these blue tinted should be avoided at all costs. Conventional light bulbs produce mostly non-blue light, but the blue tint serves to cut those colors - drastically reducing brightness. Additionaly, by enhancing the blue color of the light, you are also increasing glare (which comes mainly from blue light - why fog lights should be yellow). Avoid 'ion', 'iridium', 'electric blue', blah, blah, tints because they all do the same thing.

The very bright head lamps seen on newer cars are metal-halide lamps (usually called high-intensity discharge (HID), these are often misleadingly called xenon bulbs because they use a trace of xenon to improve starting; the light comes from the metal halide). These require sophisticated high-voltage electronic ballasts to power them, the bulbs are of a different shape and size. You can buy retrofit kits for a few $100, but these are illegal unless you also install the appropriate lenses for them, an automatic headlamp levelling system, and headlamp washers.

Sylvania Silverstars suck. They're "overdriven" and have the shortest lifespan of almost any aftermarket bulb made. Osram Silverstars are the originals and are actually good. I wouldn't install Sylvania Silverstars in my car if I was given a pair for free.

believe it or not, those blueish xenon looking halogen bulbs actually put out less visible light than your ordinary halogen bulbs.

yupp,
you will need an adapter to fit it into the housing. It does depend on what lightbulbs are in it right now - it's hard to find adapters for certain bases. In any case, you will also have to find a place to mount the ballasts.

In any case, make sure you get the appropriate xenon setup for your headlight - D2S for projector and D2R for reflector.

Xenon is just a different gas, and HID is totally different, that's a wholenew assembly. If you want that HID look or just some brighter headlights, check out some Sylvania Silverstars. I bought a pair of these because my stock bulbs sucked the left nut, and the difference is startling. Silverstars are birghter and their color is closer to that of sunlight so its nice and white, giving you a semi-HID look.
