Can a Palm Vx dial out from a laptop?

Can a Palm Vx dial out from a laptops modem using the infrared connection? I am trying to dialfrom my laptop to my ISP with my laptop modem but using the plam. Is this possible? If so, how?

Forgive me for asking, but if you have a laptop with a modem in front of you, why on earth do you awnt to dial with the palm?

If you must know BigDee, I am trying to use my world phone (cell phone) with my palm and a product called MultiMail but the phone/palm aint working. I want to eliminate the possibility that my cell phone modem is broken, so therefore I want to try to dial out from my palm to my laptop just to see if it works.

Just for your info. TDK has a new product to hook up GSM phones to the palm to connect to internet on your own service. no paying skytel...monthly fees. Product is called Global Pulse.
