I'm at a college for an advance and am connected to the campus network. Can the admins see what newsgroups I access...or just which news server I logon with?

I have RoadRunner cable from TimeWarner...anyone else that has it know how to connect remotley to their news servers?

Thx

You can only access Roadrunner newsgroups if you are running off their service. They check. I've tried before.

Almost.....but no. I get TV and movies from newsgroups, and I was warned against a strict no Filesharing policy, so I didn't want to get kicked off, cause I really need access for an online course I'm taking.

My school has a strict filesharing policy too, but I still use newsgroups all the time. I don't care. AFAIK, they can see what groups you browse, but not what you download and it's not like they care whether you download TV and movies from newsgroups. They only care when groups like RIAA and MPAA bang on their door with subpoenas.

Edit: Besides 8 MB/s transfers on campus networks = nice.
