hi, i used to run my fx55 stably at 250*11 in my msi k8n neo2

on my aus a8nsli dlx, i can barely get more than 210mhz fsb wihtout the system getting blue screens

I also removed 1 of the ultra 6800, just to make sure its not a power supply issue.

so, can a mb limit ocking? could i have got a sucky ocking board?

thanks in advance for any answers

Yes, mobos can limit your overclocking and so can the cpu. But it only happens on boards with stellar overcloking.

Example.

Cpu1 + DFI NF4 = 2.6GHZ

cpu2 + DFI NF4(same mobo) = 2.4ghz MAX

the cpu can be the crap out on a oc. But most likely it is the mobo

In your case, the motherboard/psu combo is killing you. You already know how high the processor goes, so figure the rest of the system out!!
