I have a broken maxtor diamondMAX Plus 9 here with me. With a MFG date of 15th OCT 2003. When I check the SN on it on the maxtor.com website. It says the warranty has expired... WTF.. it's only been 6 month... has Maxtor changed their warranties again?

No, most have a 1 year minimum. Try giving them a call. It may not have any warranty through them at all, hence the expired warranty.

Yeah, if it's a gray market or refurb. Though most of the hd companies honor a 1 year warr. even on gray market. Ask 'em what happened to their no-quibbles replacement policy..

Should have at least a year of warranty, maybe you typed the serial # in wrong? Go ahead and give them a call, they can straighten it out for you.
