Can a landlord just refuse you permission to bring something into your apartment?

You didn't ask his permission to bring your couch or your bed in did you? It's just another piece of furniture, just bring it in.

What the hell would make you think that you need your landlords permission to bring a stationary bike of all things into your dwelling? 😕

Many stationary exercise machines like bikes those ski machines are very noisy for the apartment directly below.

if it's not in the lease, it's not illegal, it's not damaging the apartment, and it isn't causing something else to happen that violates your lease (like loud noises), then your landlord can go fvck himself. if he tries anything, you just take him to small claims court with a video of you riding the bike so everyone can hear how quiet it is.
