"Can a game made for DX10 work on a PC loaded with DX11?"
Yes
"Same for hardware? Can a DX9 video card use DX11?"
No
I'm not sure how DX11 was installed on here... But, I do know the GT240M is designed for DX10. And... Based on the send response above, it seems i need to get back to V10 somehow... By overwriting or doing an uninstall DX11 / install DX10...
Sorry for the noobness... Check the rig sig.... I've been out of the hobby for about 5 years...
Windows 7 is automatically preinstalled with DX11.
As many have already said, don't worry about it and just play away.I'm not sure how DX11 was installed on here... But, I do know the GT240M is designed for DX10. And... Backwards, not forwards.
I downloaded the game GunCraft, installed it properly, and ran it. Then all of a sudden it says that it runs on DX10 so I guess that's what I need. I checked out what DirectX version I have and it says I'm running DX11. But everytime time I run the game the notification keeps showing up... plzz help :'(

You can have DX11 installed in a system with a non-DX11 GPU. Most, if not all, DX11 games have older DX compatibility mode that allow them to run on older GPUs (minus the DX11 in-game features obviously).

What card?
What are the rest of your computer's specs and budget? If you mean video card, it's Intel(R) G33/G31 Express Chipset Family
If you didn't mean what I answered then what do you mean?
And can you suggest a decent graphics card that can handle new games? :\
