can a contact lens get 'lost' in your eye socket?

I swear I put it in and I don't think it fell out.

Can a contact lens move to other places on the eyeball besides on the cornea?

I know that your eyeball goes inside out when you are sleeping, so there might be a chance but I doubt it.

yes, it can happen. I usually put some eye drops in my eye and wait for the contact to make it's way forward again.

I've had it happen to me where it....folds in half, sort of and gets up into the upper part of my eyelid without really being able to feel it. I just pull my eyelid away from my eye and shake it for about 10 seconds and it usualy falls out.

Yes, it can happen. If you are lucky, the lens might fall into your brain, that's cool because that will make you smarter.

I've slept with my contacts in my eye before and when I woke up, they were exactly where I put them. My soft contact lenses turned hard enough for me to break and there were goo that collected between the eye and the contact lens.

I've had one go under my eyelid before, but never "lost it" without it falling out. I doubt it could get lost behind your eye due to the muscles that hold it in place.

hehe I've had this happen before, but that was because the contacts were very dry, and went up my eyelide and further up.

A few eyedrops + blinking made them fall back out.

This happens to me pretty frequently. It's damn irritating, though, as I can feel the contact stuck but have to massage it to get it to fall back down.

its impossible. at least thats what ACUVUE says.

MYTH: Contact lenses can get lost behind your eye.

FACT: Absolutely not ? it?s physically impossible for a contact lens to get ?behind? your eye. A thin membrane covers your eye and connects to the inside of your eyelids, so the lens can?t move off the front surface of your eye.

i dont know if thats what you were asking.

I've had it perhaps, not behind my eye, but maybe all the way on the top of it, or way back there as in not in front. I'd just my eye around a whole lot.

Happened to me this morning (and many times before). Usually I just rub my finger along the edge of my eye (where the lid is), and I can drag it back in place..

Yes! Happened to me before. It's probably folded under your eyelid.

You usually can tell if it's on top or bottom though. If it goes out on bottom, usually it's on the inside of my eye (towards my nose) and rarely on the outside edge...

I have had my contacts go on the top, bottom and sides of my eyes. But you will know if they happens because you can feel it there. It hurts and you have to massage it back to the center.

Believe it or not, I've had my contact go to the back of my eye and come out my nostril.

The contact can roll up underneath your eyelid and get stuck, but you will certainly feel it there. 99% of the time when your contact rolls off your cornea, it falls out the next time you blink.

There's only so "far back" it can go in your eye socket, it can't roll over to the back of your eyeball or anything.

Shows you how stupid I am....I wait 2 days for the contacts to dry up then they fall out.

I figured the eyedrops would just lube 'em up to the point that the contacts would never resurface.

During a bike race, there was a short downpour (rain).. as I slipped in behind another rider, the water from his tire hit me in the eye, almost as if someone had directed a garden hose at my eyeball (albeit with lower volume). A minute later, I realized it washed my contact lens out of my eye. 3 days later, the contact reappeared. I have no clue where it was for 3 days, except it wasn't visible under my eyelid, and I felt no discomfort.
