Can 44.1khz audio be played on DVD players?

Im trying to get a DVD burned of a soccer game but the audio for the game is at 44.1khz... Will it play on a PS2 or other dvd player with audio?

do I need to convert it to 48khz? What software would you recommend if I have to do that?

Most programs give you access to codec configuration. I use Pinnalce studio 8 and it'll let me change it. i think nero does too. Premiere most likey does.
