camping/hiking/white water rafting in Canada-Banff/Jasper

There's 4 of us, early 20's going to Canada-Banff/Jasper July 23-Aug 3rd. We're driving up from Minnesota, and plan to camp at one spot for 2-3 nights and another for 2-3 nights, and maybe hotel the last night or 2.

We also plan to white water raft the last part of the trip, contemplating the overnight rafting trip, but that is up in the air.

So my question is, what camp sites, and actual camp SPOTS have the best views? I have to imagine some of you have been there 🙂. Pictures would be helpful .

Anyone ever white water raft? I was just going to go with these guys : http://www.wildwater.com/

We'd love a hike-to-your spot camp site if possible, but car camp spots are fine too (under a mile from the parking place).

Thread resurrect 😛

So did you go and how was it?

I went white water rafting in Australia, near Cairns. It was amazing, loved it. The weather was great, quite few level 4 rapids the water was cool. We had points where we could jump out and just ride the flow down. A few spots where we jumped off rocks.

I'm thinking of going on a 9-12day white water rafting holiday. Just trying to pin down where. I'm thinking October time to spread out my holidays 😛

Trip was aweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesome.

I totally forgot no one replied to this, haha.

We did not attempt any white water rafting up there though, it was chilly...and we had a LOT of hiking planned.

During the day it was 'warm'...nights were nice and cool - 50~ degrees F. We went early Aug, end of July.

I want to go again, we couldn't even touch half the hiking we really wanted to do.

It was interesting being 40~ miles away from any Cell service though out at misquito creek.
