camera mount specifications

hey guys i need a little help

on bigger video camera's theres the threaded mounting hole which is either 1/4 inch or 3/8 inch (i think) and then there is sometimes a locating hole forward of this hole

does anyone know where i can find the distance between these two.?

Do you mean the tripod mount? If so, it's 1/4-20 hole (1/4" diameter with 20 threads per inch). The larger variation is 3/8-16.

On my tripod, (a cheap no-name if it matters), the unthreaded centering/securing pin is 1/8" diameter. The distance between the closest edges of the two mounting pins is 3/8". The distance between the centers of the two holes is 9/16".
