Camera choice: Canon vs Minolta 4mp

Konica Minolta Dimage S414 for 199

They both use CF cards... Minolta uses 4AA and is 100 dollars cheaper... and it is a Minolta(my dad has a Minolta Dimage A2, very nice camera) and has 4x Optical zoom... The Canon can do longer video clips and is smaller/lighter and has a better amazon reviews from customers.

Help me decide within a week!

At that price...Canon A85. However, I would go with the S410. It's a solid and reliable camera, and he will be able to easily use it.

Right now for an 4MP pocket camera I would go with the Canon SD300

the minolta looks clunky and badly designed ergonomically. s410 is a really nice camera, you can actually get it for 299 at BB as its on clearence. amazon use to have the sd110 (3 MP, smaller than S410, precursor to SD200) for 199.99 shipped but they just raised the price by $20.
