I like my backpack, but I feel a normal laptop backpack does not have sufficient padding for my Canon 6D + 24-105L, any suggestion for a mini bag to put into my backpack? (no, I don't want to carry a separate camera bag, and no i love my current backpack too much to buy a new backpack) ... just looking for a mini padding "bag" to put my camera in to put into my less padded backpack.

there are numerous options from domke, jill-e, timbuk2, mountainsmith to a host of other brands. search on amazon for camera insert. you will find a plethora to choose from.

i bought a camaroo insert from there for my mft kit when i feel like sticking it into the front pouch of my tom bihn bag, cause it's small like that.

Look at the lowepro brands...I picked one up that can be attached like a backpack or thrown over your shoulder like a sling. Its not quite what you want but it works.

just keep track of the size that wiil work for you. i read all the reviews. make sure it has enough padding for your uses. you dont necessarily have to stick to known brand names - i found that brand i mentioned above and it is a no name brand.

for your case you may want an insert that also zips up, creating a little package you can drop in your backpack with little worry of the stuff falling out.

Do you think the XS version will hold the 6D+24-105 ATTACHED (i dont want to detach it).

the snoop insert looks pretty deep. my guess is yes but it's just a guess. get the measurements from timbuk2's website -they give specific measurements of the interior vs exterior. make sure the depth gives you enough space to fit the combo in after you measure that too. also make sure the entire insert actually fits in the backpack :D
