Only on ATOT can I put two completely dis-similar items in a comparison and ask which to buy.

The two items I'm debating between are a Nokia N70 cell phone, and a Radeon x1900xt.

Reason for cell phone: Recently destroyed my Sony s710a and had to go back to an old Nokia 6620, father recently got a N70 and I love it... Gave me the upgrade urge. BTW I'm a text messaging whore...

Reason for vid card: I'm a gamer, and I'm currently on a monitor that only supports 1280x1024, but if I was to get the card I could use my Westinhouse 37inch 1080p tv to game on. (Currently have x1600xt)

So atot, you guys get to decide for me!

Is the card PCIE or AGP?

Actually if you can get about 2-3 years of use from it, it might be a good deal.

Exactly what I am always thinking, people always saying "My $300 phone can do this, my phone can do that." Yea, does it make phone calls? Thats cool becuase mine was free and does the same thing!

OP I say invest the money in a savings or something, if thats not a choice then do what was suggested before. Figure out which item you would get more use out of and decide.

On the phone thing, I actually use the features, and current phone has a nightmarishly low volume (known problem nokia refuses to fix)... I use it as a PDA to keep all my school stuff organized also, and I like the ability to take a random picture every now and then and the 2MP camera is nice.

And the video card, I do alot of gaming, and that would probably hold me over a few generations, just like my 9700 pro lasted me 4 years.

Felix, that'd be a PCIe card.

And for those saying invest, I am investing a large portion of the money, this is a small part that I decided to spend on myself.

I'd say phone since the x1600xt is decent anyway. Don't know anything about the older phone you are using now, though. I demand a portion of your newfound riches for my reply.

Took me some thought, but you answered my question.

Thanks to all that played, ironically, I'm going against the ATOT general agreement ;)

I'll get more use out of the phone, and wait until the DX10 gen cards come out before I start worrying again. Guess the nice tv's reserved for the 360...

the fan on my x1900xt is a little less annoying than i thought it was a couple days ago.

i'm still planning on lapping it, adding arctic silver, and putting lead tape on it to kill the resonance.

Nope, that's the phone I like and the features I use, I'm going to buy an unlocked one for ~$400 on ebay. I have used them personally and the phone is worth the money to me.
