Cambridge Soundworks DTT2500 speaker & Audigy 2 ZS setup

I can't use the digital din cable to hook up the speaker amp to the sound card of the Audigy 2 ZS, I can only use the Analogue cable for the front & rear speaker inputs on the back of the amp. What I would like to know is, with the subwoofer, I know it's not working how it should with it's seperate channel, is it possible for me to disconnect the woofer from the back of the amp and put the correct plug on the wire and plug it straight into the subwoofer port on the Audigy 2??? or does the woofer need to be powered??? If it is possible would I have the option in the Audigy Speaker setup in windows to adjust the woofer volume???

sure it is. not enough information provided. anyways, your system doesn't have a .1 really. the subs too tiny for that to matter, it derives the sub channel from the stereo input. theres no way the subs not working. that being said, how much did you pay for this? unless you got a hot deal, you would be far far better off with a klipsch or logitech system. from what i remember, those dtt2500 are incredibly underpowered. why pay for a decoder box you don't need? in other systems that money is put towards bigger and better sounding speakers. esp considering you shelled out for a audiology. only reason would be to use an external dvd player i guess, not sure thats really worth the quality drop from getting the included decoder. that 5 inch subwoofer is just weenie.

Yeah I paid a lot for them when then first came out 3-4 years ago when I was using for DVD dolby digital which was awsome. Now that I don't watch DVD's on my PC and mainly music and gaming I did a soundcard upgrade. To buy a new speaker setup would be a waste though I do like the reviews I've read on the klipsch promedia ultra 5.1, I live in Australia and haven't seen a store or Australian online store sell them. So I've just got to do the best I can to run my speaker setup to there full potential.

heh, ah guess u get to live with them for now. i once had that speaker set...for about a day. friend had relativef that worked at creative, got discount. i tried it out...ended up selling it to another friend since i didn't like it. i have klipsch now🙂 the dtt are just underpowered and just sound "small" i guess, less accurate for any use. i almost blocked out memories of it heh🙂 it has different modes where u can expand the stereo signal to 5 channels..not real 5.1, but i guess atleast ur using more then 2 speakers that way for music. using spidif u def get the .1 channel, but it makes no dif on something that size. bass derived from stereo input is nothing to be sneezed at cept for the much higher end systems where .1 actually makes a difference.
