Camaros are coming off of the production line

odd, carpoint is reporting 26 highway for v6 and 24 for v8

weighs nearly 500 lbs more than a 2009 mustang. MT reports that 2010 GT weighs 15 lbs more due to wheels than the 2009. i've seen anywhere between 3x and 10x the penalty for rotating mass on a car vs. static mass, so that's significant. though i have to imagine the wheels have a lower moment of inertia than the decorative 20"s that will grace camaros.

Assuming he really just maxed everything out, you can remove $4,865 by simply going with the stock wheels. I can't see anyone but a retard opting for wheels that cost that much. For that much, you can get one helluva set of aftermarket wheels, while still getting the stock wheels which you can sell and recoup some of the costs.

It's 40k without those wheels, but with an upgrade to the polished aluminum 20's.

Not that I can see. The 2SS is just a luxury 1SS.

$23k msrp. What's reality? Are they going to sell below or above that right now? 300 horsepower in a V6 and rwd for that price is pretty impressive, plus that fuel economy is a big win.

Thats the problem. GM has a image problem and I am sure most dealers will mark them up, charge high rates of interest, etc... so that will not help.

Yea it happens all the time on new cars and people get mad, but in this case where people are looking for any reason to be mad at anybody that takes federal money this may be worse then before.
 
I'm going to have to keep a close eye on how these new Camaros do as far as reliability. I'm really aching to get a new car right now, and have been looking heavily at the 09 Lancer ES Sport or GTS, but I've been holding off because I've read numerous things about the interior being very low quality. However, GM said they should be able to fill all the Camaro preorders by October, so maybe if I save up a down payment, I'll be able to get a base model Camaro later this year, or get a 2011 model (not sure I can wait that long 😉).

I really, really like the way these new Camaros look, and given the price point and performance, it's hard to overlook.
 
The new Camaro's look sharp. I wish they would have used the same V6 in the base G8. I'd have a hard time with a coupe as a family car.

Honestly the V6 is really quite a steal for what you get. You can get away with a 300HP car for really cheap...and everything I've ever read about that engine has been positive...and same goes for the chassis.

You probably won't find one like that out the gate...but give it a few months and it shouldn't be a problem. My mom had absolutely no problem getting a stripper GMC Acadia when she wanted to buy one...exact interior and exterior color that she wanted and absolutely no options.

SRT8 does 13 flat at 110 bone stock. SS will run side by side with an SRT8. How is it going to leave it in the dust?
