<< You are either a liar or officially the luckiest family in existance.. they are NOT known for their reliability and I wouldn't even trust one to get me from A to B. amazing what personal experiences do to a person. >>
You are retarded. Who are you to call me a liar? While you believe whatever you hear from whatever sh*tty sources you have, I believe what I have personally experienced: 4 golfs, 2 jetta, 2 passats, 3 audis. I'd say I am much more qualified to judge their reliabilities than you who has never owned one most likely, or any other owner who has owned maybe 1 and has had problems. Guess what? There are dissatisfied owners out there with every car! You say you wouldn't trust one to get you from A to B, well that again shows me your ignorance.
<< I have never owned an Audi, but as you may know, volkswagen is Germany's "econo box" manufacturer...so audis are basically expensive econo-box cars, kinda like Mercury is to Ford. >>
No, you don't know anything about cars. A Mercury Grand Marquis is almost the exact same car as a Crown Vic, except with more doo-dads. This does NOT hold true with VW/Audi, and you cannot disagree with me on this because it is a fact. Your analogy is wrong. VW/Audi is more like
Toyota/Lexus
Honda/Acura
Nissan/Infinity
I guess those are all just upscale junk too. It doesn't matter if VW's are "econoboxes" in Germany, because I'll take a German econobox over a Chevy Lumina anyday.
<< Performance? Show me a FAST Audi...I have yet to ecounter one. Some guy on the audi forums was braggin how he was gonna dump $6K into his A4 and end up with 230 HP... Dump $6K into a WS6 and you got an 11s car with outstanding handling. >>
I don't know what you're talking about, $6k in an Audi will get you way more than 230 hp. You are either exaggerating, or don't browse the Audi/VW forums very much. Why would you anyway, since they're junk, right? There are plenty of fast Audi's, but I'll admit, not as fast as an LS1 F-body. But guess what? Different car, different marketing strategies! Duh!
<< I know a performance freak like yourself would settle for no less than the 1.8T engine, right? >>
More ignorance. The 1.8T is an exceptional engine. 1.8 liters of displacement, proven to handle 400 crank hp without any internal upgrades. Lessee, 5.7 liters of displacment proven to handle at least 700 hp. I think that's a pretty even hp/liter comparison.
Listen SsZero, if you want to sound like a car fanatic, then learn to like CARS, not just some vehicle that fits a narrow minded view you have of what ALL cars should be. Broaden your horizons. I love VW/Audi's for their refined luxury combined with enjoyable off-the-floor driving experience. I also enjoy the raw power that comes from a hunking V8 with rear wheel drive. Maybe when you mature a little you'll learn to appreciate both.
