Cam you check your cell phone voicemail through a landline?

I can't seem to find too much about this. One website said you just dial your cell phone number and put in your pass, but I'm nevr prompted to put any password.

I'm using Sprint, btw

prolly have to hit * or # first, then you get the prompt

Verizon offers the option to check your voicemail form any phone... I never use it though.

1. Call your cellphone
2. When your voicemail message comes up, press either the * or # key I forgot which one
3. enter your password
4. Check your voicemail.

For sprint, I have to press * twice for some reason when the voicemail message comes up.
