Agreed. The bubble teams that get hosed in March Madness every year get their whining for the week leading up to the first game, then everyone forgets about them. People still talk about some of the more egregious BCS travesties years after the fact.

exactly. Everyone knows the current system is completely broken, and the arguments usually come down to those teams in the 3-6 or 7 spots that "might be legit."

16 spots covers that, and then some. This argument accepts the inevitability that it would likely expand to 24, 32 teams, whatever, after a few years. It will be overkill of course, but once the NCAA, Universities, and big corps recognize the massive new streams of revenue, they'll just get greedy....as they always do.

no one gives a fuck about the #17 team getting in. Some will, of course....but only those fans. They'll get over it.

there are plenty of upper tier bowl games out there for all these teams to get a post-season taste.

Yeah, they'd still whine, but nobody would give a shit.

A playoff would solve the biggest problem with the BCS, which is the fact that a team can do absolutely everything right (going undefeated) and still NOT get a chance to compete for the national title.

Since you're never going to have 17 undefeated teams, the easiest response to the whining is "well, I guess you shouldn't have lost a game(or two)".

I'm really hoping Cam Newton does NOT get suspended. If Oregon runs the table and gets a shot at the national title, I don't want the question mark of what would have happened if they had to play Auburn instead of a Boise or TCU.

Hopefully they sort this out before December, otherwise we're going to have another Reggie Bush fiasco! But, can you blame anyone for taking a "guilty until proven innocent" stance on this one?
 
War Cam Eagle! (11-0) I want to see Florida win tonight so that Auburn has victories over LSU, Arkansas, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss & Florida when all is said & done, then we beat Oregon in the Championship.

I think Cecil has admitted to asking for money, but cleared Cam's name. And the laptop & cheating accusations - would they really care if he wasn't the heisman frontrunner? I doubt it.

They could get screwed by the ncaa. Right at this moment it doesn't look like it will happen. That could change by tomorrow though. Still gotta beat bama too, or it won't matter a whole lot.

This isn't even in the same ballpark.

Here we have a student committed academic fraud and there is actual evidence proving his guilt.

In the case of USC, no student was involved nor is their evidence, only the word of a convinced felon - who was convicted to lying under oath..........

If the schools don't get slammed HARDER than USC the NCAA simply proves what people have been saying, that it is a joke.
