Nice. Definately in the Top Comics of All Time top 3, along with The Far Side and Bloom County. :)

Far Side >= Calvin and Hobbes > Bloom County.

In fact, I have a Bloom County book, and I didn't find it that good at all. And the drawing style blew.

Maybe I'm just too young.

A complete Calvin & Hobbes collection (like the Far Side one) is due out in October, super-fans might want to pre-order it instead (ISBN: 0740748475 $95 at Amazon)

Bloom County, then Calvin and Hobbes, then way down the mountain is everything else.

Anyone remember a strip called "Arnold"? He would write to Miss Manners and her response was "Gentle Reader, I will pay you to leave me alone"

My 'Scientific Progress Goes Boink' got soaked years ago and is really worn. I may pick up another.

I remember seeing this at the Westbury Borders a while ago, so they're probably a bargain bin regular. C&H is well worth the MSRP, but $6 apiece is outstanding.

B&N has some of these comic collections on sale regularly, so you might want to check your local B&N, too. I think Far Side 3 is still $6 there. I had to buy it, b/c it has the classic man, bird, and cat coconutty collision that so pleased the parrot. :D

You've got to be kidding me. You actually prefer the Far Side drawing style over Bloom County? While the Far Side is great, Larson's drawing talent pales compared to Waterson and Breathed.

Calvin & Hobbes > *

Please insert an icon of Calvin performing an act on anyone with a stupid window/bumper sticker so they know how much of an idiot they are.

Spaceman Spiff forever. I was really sad to see Calvin & Hobbes end as it was one of the few comic strips worth reading in the newspapers.

Calvin is my favorite too (and my three boys too), by a long shot over most anything else but there is a lot more good stuff this. Besides the other big two that have been mentioned above, does anyone remember Pogo? Am I dating myself too severely? I just remember falling on the floor laughing at that one as a kid.

BTW, last christmas, Borders had the C&H books in clearance and were selling all clearance at buy two get a third book free.

I do... I bet that's where Adam Sandler stole his lunch lady stuff from...

The stuff he did to the lunch ladies was amazing!
