He got pissed off that people were "exploiting" C&H in things in which he got no credit for nor did he want any part of - ie, piss on Chevy stickers among other things. That's a hell of a way to make a statement though - I loved C&H. I own 3 of the comic collection books.

His syndicator was giving him too much BS so he just stopped making comics.
At least, that's the story I heard. It was sad day when I finished "it's a magical world" and knew I'd never see any new C&H comics again.
