I can't seem to find a good reference to determine which is a better choice for breakfast:

Bacon & Eggs, Home Fries, Rye Toast (buttered), Bacon (usually 5 strips), Coffee, Orange Juice (this was while I was working and at my local dinner. Now eating breakfast at home again)

2 Eggo Waffles with butter

2 Eggo Waffles with peanut butter

Cereal such as from Post Selects with 2% fat milk.

I am trying to lose about 10 - 15Lbs or so and I know that will
take some time. I do try to hit the gym for about 1 mile on a
treadmill or Orbitron unit. Currently around 190Lb at 5'8"

the eggo waffles should have their calorie content on the box, the butter/pb depends on how much you're using. This info is readily available all over the internet as well as on the boxes of whatever you're trying to eat. If you're too lazy to do the work yourself...

Also read the fat loss sticky.

There are lots of options. Try eliminating some of the egg yolks. I usually use one yolk for every 3 eggs. It makes a huge difference with the fat content. Often times I use eggbeaters. Also, check out turkey bacon. It is way leaner than pork bacon. Turkey sausage links are fairly good and lean also. If you do toast make sure it is whole grain. Don't use butter, use I can't believe its not butter or something similar.

I would stay away from spreading peanut butter on your waffles. Very high in fat.

Be careful with cereal there is often alot of sugar in "healthy cereals." My go to is the Original Post Shredded wheat.

One mile on a treadmill is not squat. Especially if you are walking it. Figure out a more serious workout plan. Don't sell yourself short. You can do more than you think.

I agree, 1 mile really is not enough. But I do it at 4mph and it takes about 25 minutes. I suppose after doing it long enough, I might be able to get to 2 or so in an hour. For cereal I use Post Select, either the Cranberry Almond or Raisin,Dates, Pecans, or Banana Nut
I can go back to regular butter for the waffles. I don't cook eggs at home that often. That was when I eating breakfast before my work shift.

Try one of these interval programs. They are really easy to follow. You should have no problem doing them. You WILL get better results with something like this.

1 mile @ 4mph = 15 minutes.

bruceb, suggest you check out the "Weight Control" instant oatmeal put out by Quaker Oats.

I don't necessarily eat it, thinking that I'll magically control my weight. Rather, it has about twice as much protein as their regular instant flavored oatmeal, and half the carbs. By eating a bowl of that in the morning, along with a protein powder drink made with skim milk, I'm getting just about a 50/50 protein/carb split. And the flavors ain't bad either!

I walk 3.5 miles in an hour at my gym... not sure what you are doing differently. If you are only doing a mile, you are barely getting your heart rate up.

The fat content of yolks is the best kind of fat for you. The cholesterol content may be a bit high for individuals who are cholesterol sensitive (about 30% of the population), but it's no big deal for the other 70% of the population. Wasting the yolk is a silly concept, considering it contains an awesome amount of vitamins and minerals. Seriously, tossing the yolk is like throwing away a daily multivitamin.

Greek yogurt with fresh fruit (that you chop up yourself, not the sugar-laden stuff you get pre-mixed) is a pretty wholesome breakfast.

1 mile on a treadmill is nothing, that'll burn off the equivalent of one small cookie.

The op is 5'8' and 190lbs. Good fat/bad fat he should probably cut back as much fat as possible. Especially, since he doesn't seem willing to put in the physical effort to lose weight. If he needs a multivitamin he should just take one.

Sigh... this is so much information. The OP should cut back on calories from all macronutrients, but particularly carbohydrate while trying to lose weight. Lower fat diets have been shown to be less effective than lower carb diets for primarily fat loss. Low fat diets are really on their way out due to the mass of supportive research showing that cutting carbs leads to quicker, more desired weight loss. On top of that, fat maintains a high satiating effect due to its effects on hormones and the digestion rate. Carbs sadly don't.
