Stupid AT&T cable..................

I just got this a few days ago, and allready I'm having troubles.

I can be online for 5-10 minutes, then all of a sudden "Page not found".

And the only way I can get back on the web is to reboot!! ARGHHH

I would call tech support but the reason I GOT cable is so I didn't have to have a phone!! (Hence, NO PHONE)

Help me out here FFMCOBALT!!

BTW: This happens in both 98SE and 2000 Pro

Next time it happens, run winipcfg and hit renew all and see what happens.

Hmm, this started happening to me too awhile back (I have timewarner cable.) Funny thing is...it would happen to my PC but not to anyone else's (we have 5 PCs on a network hooked up to a router.) After tampering enough times with my network settings in XP, upgrading firmware on the router, resetting the router to default settings, switching ports on the router, and changing a cable, it finally went away.

I realize this doesn't help much, sorry!

Ahh, I hate this particular bug in ATT's networks. Thankfully, I haven't seen it in months (and hope never to again!).
In Win2k, open Notepad and type:

cd %systemroot%\system32
ipconfig /renew

And then save it as IPrenew.bat on your Desktop.
Double-click it everytime your connection flips out.

Will the same .Bat work?

Change ipconfig to winipcfg and it should work

*EDIT - or can't you run winipcfg from a cmd prompt?

Thanks all.

I'm using 98se this morning, and so far eveything seems to be working fine.........

The test will be in 2000 Pro I guess. (And XP Pro, I still have to set THAT up)

Hey girl :)

As far as starting on the 10th, I think you pay full amount. I know the last month is pro-rated, but it only make sense that the first month be pro-rated as well. However, I've never seen a partial bill for the first month of service, regardless of the start date. Most of the time you can get some sort of deal, though. Free premium install, free basic install and first month free, or a couple months free, or if you're lucky, free basic install and several months free. Or, if you're the wearing 100,000 rabbit ears and toss salt over your shoulder 100 times a day, a free premium install and two months free or six months at $19.99 or something.

There are LOTS of deals available, and there are usually some going on in pretty much all of the local markets. It's up to them. You might consider calling the local AT&T service center (if you have the number, cuz I don't) and asking that one. That's a good question. :)

Although I must add, that if you're a returning customer, you have to have had your account cancelled for 60+ days in order to be eligible for discounts upon signup.
