Which area will be the warmest at the Beginning of March: North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee or West Virginia? My family and I are going camping during the first week of March and need to know the warmest area. We have a camper so it doesn't matter too much, but we want to swim. We are from MI so it only needs to be about 70 for us to swim.

North Carolina for sure. West Virginia...especially in the mountains stays pretty cold. Now if you are going camping in the NC mtns or the Tennessesse mtns it will still be cold...but not as bad as WV. Were you planning on staying in the Mtns...or just anywhere there is a campground?

Well my mom is from Tennessee so we might go there, and she is from the Mountains, but we have been there a lot and might go elsewhere. I wouldn't know where to go in North Carolina. We usually just sit around when we go camping and go out to eat and stuff so whatever is fine.

Hehe...

You consider NC, Virginia, WV, and Tenn (maybe) in the south? ;)

The foothills and peidmont of NC have some decent camp places, and are generally pretty warm in March. I live in the area, and if you want I could look up some stuff for ya.

It might be a long drive, but if I were you, I would try camping down at Cape Hatters (sp?) in NC. It is really, really nice down there and there is a good chance it will be warm enough to swim...at least to someone from MI.
